Awards and Reviews

In May of 2006 in Palm Springs, California, this art arrived on the scene pretty much by accident and almost immediately began winning patrons and awards. In 2007 it won the maximum of three awards at the California State Fair Fine Art Competition, a feat rarely accomplished according to Carol Buchanan, the Fine Art Exhibit Supervisor. “It’s rare, but it’s not unheard of,” Carol said about all of one artist’s submissions being accepted by the judges. Chi Chi and Cubana was awarded a Crystal Award of Excellence, and Radio-City Hollywoodland and The Rossmore Hotel both received Awards of Merit along with State Fair Rosettes. It won a fourth Award of Merit at the State Fair in 2008 for The Victor Hugo Inn.
In 2008 Hale entered a contest to be featured in the 30th Anniversary issue of Art Business News magazine and was one of four selected from a field of eight finalists from around the world. Each were awarded a half page write-up in the magazine and were called Trendsetters and Emerging Artists. There were many other acknowledgements and awards, but the State Fair and Art Business News awards were like Academy Awards. You can’t get any better recognition starting out as a non-traditional artist.
I really enjoyed the walk down memory lane.

These are all beautiful images as were so many others. You have a gift that's quite rare.

Such engaging informative work whose colorized photos make you feel as if you have stepped back in time and are actually there. I could spend an hour with each one feeling as if a time machine has transported me back to be part of history that is no longer with us.
