Artist Statement

My journey as an artist began with vintage prints and photographs, which I began collecting around 2005. A wide-format printer opened the possibility of restoring these artifacts and making new art from their visual history.

In 2006, I began selling colorized photos in Palm Springs. I have since created hundreds of color compositions, often from real photo postcards and street scenes from the 1930s through the 1950s.

Each work begins with a high-resolution scan, research, restoration, and the careful isolation of details for colorization. The work is an invitation to meet familiar history with fresh eyes.
